John Davenport Engineering, Inc. is a full service transportation
engineering firm. Founded in 2002, JDE now has offices in the Triad and
Cape Fear regions of North Carolina. We are licensed to do work in NC,
SC, and VA. Our specialties include the following:

Traffic Impact Analysis – JDE has completed hundreds of traffic impact analyses, from a small convenience store or corner drug store to large mixed-use developments containing thousands or hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial space.

Traffic Signal Design – JDE has completed signal design work for both public and private clients. We are pre-qualified to do work for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Roadway Design – JDE has completed numerous roadway design projects, ranging from simple turn lane designs to North Carolina Department of Transportation “Moving Ahead” projects, to improvements related to large scale commercial projects such as the Arrowhead Project in Mebane, NC.

Traffic Data Collection – JDE has a team of technicians that specialize in collecting traffic data. We have experience in collecting traffic data including peak-hour traffic counts, 16-hour traffic signal warrant studies, volume/speed/class counts, as well as specialized delay studies.
The JDE team is comprised of engineers and technicians that have extensive experience in working with local and state agencies. This gives us the ability to relate well with the people that review our work. Our president, John Davenport, Jr., PE has over 16 years of transportation engineering experience.
