Bernard Road Study, Town of Rocky Mount, VA
Davenport Transportation Consulting (DTC, formerly JDE) provided transportation planning and operations services for the Bernard Road Cut-through Study. The project was a corridor study for Bernard Road between School Board Road and Rte. 220 northbound entrance ramp and North Main Street (southbound). The purpose for the study was to establish existing traffic volume and vehicle classification, 85th percentile speed and the origin and destination of vehicles entering and exiting the corridor termini. The study required intersection data collection, license plate origin/destination study, access analysis, traffic calming review and findings recommendations.
