Davenport Transportation Consulting is currently seeking Transportation Engineers with both traffic engineering and roadway design or similar experience. Qualifications and skill sets desired are as follows:

1. BSCE and an EIT certification required. Ability to obtain PE Registration in North Carolina within 12 months will be considered as an advantage.
2. Four (4) years minimum direct experience in transportation engineering / roadway design
3. Must be familiar with the traffic engineering software like Synchro, HCS, Sidra and must have one (1) year minimum CADD experience (AutoCAD and Microstation)
4. NCDOT/SCDOT/VDOT permitting experience
5. Experience with NCDOT pavement marking and signing

Additional qualifications and skill sets that would provide candidate greater advantage:

1. Experience with traffic impact analysis, feasibility studies, signal design, signal timing, traffic impact analysis, safety analysis and other related traffic engineering work
2. Familiarity with traffic modeling software (Ex. SIMTRAFFIC,VISSIM )
3. Experience with storm water management, NCDENR erosion & sedimentation control design & permitting
4. Experience with utility design (water, sewer & storm drainage)
5. Experience coordinating dry utility (gas, electric, communications & CATV) 
6. Geopak experience
7. Land development engineering experience
8. Land surveying / mapping experience
9. Highway and interchange design experience
10. Experience in preparing proposals is also desired

• JDE works on projects all over the state of NC, as well as in VA and SC
• Some overnight travel can be expected (less than 5%).

Travel required. Some overnights. Hotel provided. Hours: AS NEEDED, generally T-TH and on Saturday. Mornings and Evenings. PART-TIME WORK ONLY. Must have own transportation, valid driver's license and clean driving record. Pay is $8-10/hr based on experience.
