Mr. Jackson has ten years experience in roadway design. He started his career by designing alignments for the numerous roadways and ramps of the complex Springfield I-95 and other interchanges using Microstation/IGRDS. At his next position, he continued to hone his skills by establishing layout and grade elevations for redesigned street intersection and by redesigning storm drainage for roads. Along with redesigning storm drainage, he designed signage and pavement markings for a proposed interchange. While working for the City of Detroit, his responsibilities included review of construction plans, and proposals from consultants and contractors for compliance with city and state road and drainage design standards and specifications. Before joining Davenport Transportation Consulting (formerly John Davenport Engineering, Inc.), Mr. Jackson designed the proposed utility lines profiles, taking into account conflict with other utilities and adjacent structures. He also prepared construction plans using AutoCAD utilizing his intimate knowledge of City of Detroit standards. While at DTC Mr. Jackson has designed roadway designs for several different projects along with storm drainage. Since joining DTC Mr. Jackson’s duties include pavement marking designs, storm drainage, roadway and highway design, and cost estimates. He is proficient in AutoCAD and Microstation.
